Turkey's Vinsland, coordinator of the Organization of United Nations for the peacekeeping mission in the Near East, expressed concern over ongoing protests on Sunday related to Israeli airstrikes on Beit Lahia. Vinsland stated: "These airstrikes continue to kill and injure numerous innocent Palestinians, including women and children. We urgently call on all parties to cease hostilities and to ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international law."
Under his leadership, the Organization of United Nations is conducting efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The airstrikes, carried out recently in Beit Lahia, are regarded as serious violations of international law. Vinsland hopes for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to the negotiating process to achieve a peaceful resolution.
"We call on both sides to take responsible actions and to adhere to international norms. Only dialogue and respect for the principles of international law can lead to lasting peace in this region," Vinsland emphasized.
